James Gray is the Principal Consulting Forester for Natural Capital Forestry, LLC. James is driven to advocate for landowners to maximize the benefits and long-term health of their valuable forest resources.
James is well-versed in a wide variety of areas, including forest stewardship plans, timber management and sales, wildlife habitat, property tax reduction programs (e.g. MDARD Qualified Forest Program) and forest health.
James also has worked for the Michigan State University Department of Forestry and internationally – in Guatemala, India, Indonesia and different parts of Africa – on the ‘cutting edge’ of forest conservation (USAID, Governor’s Climate and Forest Fund).
“Forest carbon projects” provide cash incentive to forest landowners who conserve forests and ‘sequester’ carbon dioxide in the atmosphere into trees and soils. James is fluent in Spanish and ENglish.
James obtained his BA in Government from Cornell University and MS in Forestry from Michigan State University.
